The Rice Guys
Location & Intro:
The Rice Guys is a QSR concept which has recently started it’s two outlets across the city of joy. I had been to the Camac Street Outlet which is located diagonally opposite in the Lane to Haldirams, Camac Street. Another outlet is located near the Paradise Cinema in Esplanade Area, Kolkata.
I had been invited here to try out their food items.
The Rice Guys is a small kiosk. However, as we say that don’t judge the book by it’s cover, it would be unjust to judge the outlet by its size. Stop judging and start #nomnoming. 😂 They started off with serving Quality North Indian Thaalis at really affordable prices. The price ranges from 99 to 160 bucks depending on what you order. They even have curry curry combo and the mad combo which is ranging from 180 to 220 bucks.
What i tried:
I tried the Lehsuni Daal, Dal Makhani, Chicken Curry, Chicken Butter Masala, Paneer Butter Masala and Fish Curry with Jeera Rice and Roomali Roti.
The Lehsuni Daal, Daal Makhani and Chicken Curry were quite flavourful yet balanced. The taste was really good. These are the regular eateries which a customer can consume daily!!
The Chicken Butter Masala and Paneer Butter Masala (Really soft and fresh Paneer) being my favorite because of the smoky flavour in them. #tryityourself
I would highly recommend Dal Makhani, Chicken Butter Masala and Paneer Butter Masala.
The Fish Curry had a bit more salt and mustard than required. However, i feel as it’s a new joint, it will improvise it over time.

Price for two: The usual meal for one ranges from 99 to 160 bucks approximate. For two, it would be around 200 – 250 approximate. (Prices are subject to change due to macroeconomic factors such as inflation, etc.)
Pros:
• Reasonably priced.
• Quality food.
• QSR New concept.
• Good serving speed.
Conclusion:
The Rice Guys has a lot of potential and i wish them all the very best for their future endeavors. I am glad that their main criteria is to focus more on quality rather than just quantity! Bon Appetit!!
