New Paul Dhaba

New Paul Dhaba – Reasonably priced dhaba serving decent food.

Location & Intro:

New Paul Dhaba is located in 169, Vivekananda Road, Maniktala area. I was passing by after completing some official work when hunger striked my belly. This restaurant serves decent chinese and mughlai food at quite reasonable prices. The best part about them is the combo meals which they offer at pocket friendly prices.

The restaurant is located on the 1st floor. I got a chance to visit this along with one of my friend. After stalking the menu, we gave our order. The decor is not too fancy but the hospitality is good and the music keeps repeating with old hindi songs specially himesh reshamiya songs.

What we ordered:

• My friend ordered a Non Veg Thaali which comprised of egg, mutton, chicken gravy dishes along with roti, rice, and gulab jamun. I pricked the gulab jamun from there and it was really good and lipsmacking hot.

• We both somehow after stalking the menu and coming up to the same conclusion of ordering the same dish went out to order Chicken Steam Momo. The momo was served to us with their sweet chilli sauce and soup. Believe me or not, the sauce served with the momo was too good and i really relished it. The soup was not like the usual soup which we get in momo shop’s with just chicken broth or say a handful (not even that) vegetables. But, this particular momo soup won my heart. Vegetable’s were added without any miserliness. A pinch of salt and pepper and smoke coming out of the bowl made me drool along with tounge salivating. However, the momo maida covering on the outside was too thick to my liking. The stuffing was filling.

• I tried the chicken biriyani. The biriyani rice was not very aromatic. The chicken was tender but not super tender as i love it. The aloo was fine but it could have been well marinated and could have that sweet touch to it which i really enjoy. The egg was usual boiled egg. So, no comments. Overall, with respect to the price, the quantity was satiating.

Meal for two: 300-500

Pros:

• Reasonably priced and pocket friendly.

• Providing great hospitality. Special mention is their staffs who were serving us on the table.

• Ambiance is decent. One can go with either family, friends or .

Cons:

• Music was a serious concern that too was on loop.

Expert Suggestion:

• Dishes can still be improved w.r.t taste. Work on it.

Conclusion:

It was a good experience to dine in here especially if there was instrumental or soft music. I would come back here again if i am low on money and i’m here in this area.
