The Awadh Restaurant

Jashn E Kebab Festival – 10th to 20th September, 2018

Location & Intro:

The Awadh Restaurant is located at 17 Park Circus. To be more precise, head straight from Beckbagan towards Seven Point Crossing, you will locate it on the left hand side. The opposite side has Arsalan, Haji Saheb etc.

The Restaurant is situated on the first floor and is divided into two sections. The ambiance was okay but it was not bad either. I felt the hospitality at the restaurant definitely needs a bit of improvement as the staffs were not very much interactive.

What all i had:

As we went to cover Jashn E Kabab Festival at The Awadh Restaurant, I will just brief you about my experience here. We were clicking pictures for quite some time so most of the kebabs had turned quite cold. Nonetheless, they reheated it but it will never taste the same as and when it comes out straight from Tandoor!

Kebabs:

Grilled Prawn Kebab – The Prawn kebabs were okay. It was not something extraordinary to me.

Murgh Banjara Kebab – The Murgh Banjara Kebab was lip smacking delicious. It was quite tender as well which is why i liked it.

Murgh Hyderabadi Drumstick – It was more of Chicken Tangdi Kebab but again, the chicken had gone a bit stiff as it was kept since a long time. The way the kebab was presented looked drooling but did not taste that great.

Chicken Maitwa – Lucknow – It tasted fine to me.

After the kebabs, we relished some good Mutton Awadhi Biryani and Kolkata Style Biryani with their signature Shahi Tukda. The Awadhi Biryani was very light and tasted great. The Kolkata style Biryani was great overall but the chicken lacked the proper marination. The aloo was perfectly cooked. The Shahi Tukda was really good here. It was probably one of the best Shahi Tukda in the city of joy.

Special thanks: Argha Banerjee and Digital Brain for inviting me over and extending the hospitality.

Price for two: 500-700 approximate (Prices are subject to change due to macroeconomic factors such as inflation, etc.)

Expert Suggestions

• Staffs need to interact more and be hospitable.

Pros:

• Large seating capacity.

• Location is a bonus.

• Quite a large variety of items to order from.

Conclusion:

I had a decent experience here at The Awadh Restaurant. I would rate it a 3.6/5. I would once again come as a customer to try their Food as i want to try the kebabs straight when coming out of the Tandoor.
